Up to half a dozen people in Clare were arrested under the new drink driving legislation over the Bank Holiday weekend.
New figures from the Clare Garda Division show officers detained six people on suspicion of being over the blood alcohol limit which has been reduced from 80 to 50 mg or 20 for learners and professional drivers.

The figures for Halloween are well down on the same statistics over the Bank Holiday in 2010 when 14 people were arrested for suspected drunk driving.
