A man has died – after his dinghy capsized near Kilkee in Co Clare this afternoon.
The alarm was raised at around 2 o’clock when a person was reported to be in difficulty in the sea.

A rescue operation was launched and the man was airlifted to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick where he passed away this evening.
He was a foreign national and was fishing when the tragedy took place.
His family has been notified.
