At Kilrush District Court yesterday gardaí  gave evidence of serving the book of evidence on the retired primary school teacher and said the DPP had consented to the case going forward to the Circuit Court .

Judge Aeneas McCarthy said the usual reporting restrictions, banning the release of the accused name, would apply, but was informed that the 11 alleged victims  had no objections if they were lifted.

However Judge McCarthy stated that he would prefer if the alleged injured parties were in court to state they wished to wave their right to anonymity and so therefore the ban would remain.

The accused was further remanded on bail and is due to appear before Ennis Circuit Court next February.
