Scepticism over new hospital managment

Nursing staff have branded new management arrangements for Ennis General and other hospitals in the Mid West as "too little too late"

Clare’s County Hospital along with Limerick, Nenagh, Croom and Saint John’s will all come under the sole control of one CEO, while a second has been appointed to manage Galway, Portiuncula and Roscommon.

It’s all part of the government’s plan to reign in budgetary overspending and ease the chronic overcrowding being experienced at the hospitals, particularly Dooradoyle and UHG.
