Local politicians are calling on householders to ensure their chimney’s are cleaned prior to the visit of Santa Claus this Christmas!
Ennis Councillor Brian Meaney has lead calls for the fire safety measures to be taken before the much anticipated arrival of Santa’s sleigh, while the Clare Fire Service has backed his advice, urging all householders to think fire safety throughout the year.
The Clare Fire and Rescue service were called out to 65 fires last Christmas, and officers say Santa’s visit is a timely reminder of the serious risks involved in fires, candles and decorations and the need for working smoke alarms in our homes.
