Gardaí are searching for a man who stole a patrol car and drove it over the border last night.
The man was arrested over an alleged motoring offence in North Dublin at around 9 o’clock.
However he managed to get free from Garda custody and made off in a patrol car, sparking a high-speed chase with a number of Garda vehicles.

The PSNI has been notified and the car was later found abandoned in Newry in South Armagh.
