Gardaí are continuing to detain a 32 year old man following yesterday’s fatal shooting in County Louth.

35-year-old James Hughes was shot dead as he sat in a taxi parked outside a house in Dundalk in the early hours.
Two others, a female passenger and the taxi driver also sustained injuries.
Shortly after the incident a man presented himself at Carrickmacross Garda Station, where he is currently being held.
The shooting has shocked the local community.
