People across Clare are being urged to stay clear of any frozen rivers or other waterways across the county over the festive season.
Last year County Council officials issued an urgent warning to parents to ensure their children weren’t skating on a number of lakes that had frozen over due to the sub zero temperatures.
Pet owners too are being urged to be extra vigilant if walking their animals near frozen water and not to take unnessary risks in the event of breaking ice.
