New figures have shown positive signs in Clare’s property market, with planning permissions in the third quarter at their highest level so far this year.
However, the number of planning approvals for this year is still running at a much lower level than in 2010
Planning permission was granted for 163 units in County Clare from July-September of this year, according to new figures from the CSO.
This is the most of any three month period in 2011, but is still lower than any quarter previous to this.
Up until the end of September, planning permission was granted to 458 properties here in Clare this year – that’s just three-quarters of the amount given for the same nine months in 2010.
In the last three months, 66 new homes were given the green light, as were 65 extensions. The total number of permissions is down 28% on the same quarter of last year, though this is better than the national figure which shows a 45% drop.
