A mass rally is to take place in Limerick tonight against household and water taxes.
Organisers are urging people to get involved and refuse to pay the charges – which campaigners say are taxes designed to bailout the banks.
The Campaign Against Household and Water Taxes group also says the charges could rise within a couple of years to a 1-thousand euro or more – leaving already strapped home-owners in a very difficult position.

Activists are calling for a mass, nationwide non-payment and non-registration for the new tax by Saint Patrick’s Day – two weeks before the payment deadline.
