Moves by the government to regulate the taxi industry in Clare has been welcomed by the county’s opposition TD.
Timmy Dooley, Fianna Fail’s Transport Spokesman, says it’s clear that the landscape of the taxi industry has changed completely in recent years, and feels it’s only right that moves have been made to protect drivers’ incomes.
The Department of Transport’s Taxi Review has also ensured that current licence holders with convictions – will have to apply to the courts – to maintain their permits.

Deputy Dooley also feels that provision is just.
