The Mayor of Ennis has passed up on an invite to New York this St. Patrick’s Day, in light of our current economic circumstances.
Some members of Ennis Town Council encouraged Councillor Michael Guilfoyle and the Ennis Town Manager to take up the invitation to be part of March 17th celebrations in the Big Apple to represent the town, but others felt it more appropriate to give the trip a miss this year.
Instead he’ll be staying at home the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Ennis on Saturday the 17th, while a group from Langenfeld in Germany will also be visiting Clare’s County Capital for the event.
