Taoiseach Asked To Deal With Ennis Sewerage Problems

The Taoiseach is to be contacted by Ennis Town Council in a bid to provide vital infrastructure for the creation of jobs in the area.

Councillors have expressed frustration at a wait of over 15 years for a full upgrade of the local sewerage scheme in Clare’s County Town, particularly as they feel no major industries or new employers can be attracted here without such services.

This weeks meeting heard that 67 million euro would be required to fund the necessary works, while juts two million has been provided.

Ennis Councillor Frankie Neylon says the problem must be taken to the top, as he discussed it with Enda Kenny while in opposition, and feels he may now deliver on his promises as Taoiseach
