The government will unveil a plan later which aims to create 100 thousand jobs over four years.
15 government departments and 30 state agencies are involved in the Action Plan for Jobs 2012.
It’s been prepared by Minister Richard Bruton, and contains over 250 measures focusing on four key areas including competition and encouraging foreign direct investment.
Meanwhile,
Its reported that the Clare County Enterprise board is set to be scrapped as part of the government’s jobs plan today.
All 35 of such boards nationwide are set to be abolished in a revamp of supports for small and start up companies and Enterprise Ireland is being given a bigger role in helping small businesses.
Merging the boards is expected to save up to 2 million a year however staff will not all change and some will form part of the new Local Enterprise Offices (called LEOs) being set up instead – They will serve as one-stop shops helping small businesses.
