Reversal of some DEIS cuts

The Department of Education has announced that 2 DEIS posts which were to have been axed from the Convent Of Mercy National School in Kilrush will now be saved.

The posts were among 235 teaching positions which were due to be axed from schools in disadvantaged areas, but are now being retained.

However, a legacy post at Killaloe Boys National School will not be retained, while Boston and Ballyvaughan National Schools are both set to lose a member of teaching staff.
