HSE Management are warning of delays and disruption to local health services in Clare in the coming weeks as the full impacts of public sector retirements and major budget cuts are felt.
683 staff are leaving the HSE West area by February 29th, but as well as stretched resources in our hospitals, the effects will also be felt in Community services and the areas of public health nursing, disability and mental health.
The HSE’s Area Manager for the Mid-West has told Clare FM that elderly care services will be mostly unaffected in Clare, confirming recent assurances on community hospitals in Ennistymon, Kilrush, Ennis and Tuamgraney.
But with 120 people retiring in Primary, Community and Continuing Care, and budget cuts of 50 million euro in this area, Bernard Gloster admits there WILL be some inconvenience
