Sick children across Clare have been deprived of the best care possible by An Bord Pleanala’s decision to reject the application for the New National Children’s Hospital.
That’s the view of one Ennis Councillor who has branded as outrageous the findings of the appeals planning board
The facility, which was to go ahead on the site of the Mater Hospital in the city centre, was given the thumbs down amid concerned that it was too high and would have a negative impact on the Dublin skyline.
The government maintains that it is committed to the project, despite the decision, though the intended completion date of 2016 is now in doubt.
Ennis representative Councillor Peter Considine is calling for An Bord Pleanala’s decision to be reviewed.
