Water services staff at Clare County Council are being reassured that their roles will continue as normal once the system is centralised.
Fears had been expressed about future staffing arrangments for the workers under the proposed Irish Water Company – established by the government this week to oversee the implementation of water metering.
Currently the local authority is responsible for the delivery and maintence of water across the county but this will change once the new company is up and running.
