A ten year old boy who suffered catastrophic injuries in a car accident is to receive the largest ever personal injuries settlement.
The High Court has approved an 11.5 million euro pay out to Cullen Kennedy from Loughrea, Co Galway.
He was being driven to school in June 2008 by his mother Margaret who suffered a momentary lapse of concentration and veered head on into another vehicle.

She wasn’t insured and the settlement has been made with the Motor Insurers Bureau of Ireland.
Ten year old Cullen is quadriplegic and will require care for the rest of his life.
However he attends mainstream school and is described as a bright and enthusiastic student.
