The Taoiseach will visit County Clare later this week to officially launch the takeover of a major employer in the aircraft sector in Shannon.
Transaero Engineering Ireland recently acquired Air Atlanta Aero Engineering at Shannon Airport, and will continue to operate as a leading aircraft maintenance repair and overhaul company for airlines and private operators from around the world.
The takeover of the Shannon facility by Russia’s second largest airline, Transaero is seen as a welcome boost as up to 180 jobs have been secured in the process.

Shannon Fine Gael Councillor Sean McLoughlin is also confident it will result in further spin off employment for the region.
