Three 3rd level students including a North Clare woman find out today if their High Court bid to reverse education cuts have been successful.
In a test case, supported by the Union of Students in Ireland, Medb McCarthy from Burrin, along with two others from Monaghan and Galway, have challenged the Education Minister’s decision to cut the Higher Education Maintenance Grant.

The case was heard before the High Court earlier this year and Mr. Justice Hedigan is due to deliver his ruling on the matter later this morning.
The outcome could have repercussions for tens of thousands of students across the country.
