Clare homeowners are being encouraged to take an opportunity to go green for free this weekend.
The European Recycling Platform is hosting an event in Kilrush today where members of the public are invited to dispose of any unwanted electronic items and batteries free of charge.

A similar scheme will be on offer at Ennis mart tomorrow, and will run from 10:00 until 4:00 both days.
Those who can’t make this weekends events, can recycle their household electrical waste and waste batteries for free at The Central Waste Management Recycling Facility in Inagh or at the local amenity sites in Shannon, Scarrif, Ennis and Kilkee.
