Gilmore wont be drawn on scaremongering claims

The Tánaiste is refusing to be drawn on claims the Government is trying to scaremonger people into backing the EU Fiscal Stability Treaty.

Sinn Féin and the Socialist party say Fine Gael and Labour are putting the frighteners on the electorate to vote YES in the upcoming referendum.

The accusation came after the Finance Minister, Michael Noonan, said yesterday that a rejection of the treaty would result in a much tougher Budget in December.

Eamon Gilmore says there are consequences to a no vote but he says he is only concentrating on the reasons why people should ratify the treaty:
