Top awards for several Clare restaurants

Several Clare eateries have achieved top marks in the prestigious Irish Restaurant Awards.

Doonbeg Golf Club scooped two of the main accolades, with The Long Room securing the Best Hotel Restaurant Award, while Doonbeg’s  world renowned chef Wade Murphy came out on top  in the Munster category.

There was also success for the Roadside Tavern in Lisdoonvarna in the awards ceremony in Dublin last night.

It was crowned the Best Gastro Pub in Munster, while in the industry category –  Dromoland Castle was presented with the award for Best Practice in Energy Management.

Meanwhile,

The former chef at Greggans Castle in North Clare – who won best chef in Ireland in last year’s awards was also successful as his new eatery – The Greenhouse- next to the Mansion House in Dublin secured  " the best newcomer to the scene".

The awards were presented by the Restaurant Association of Ireland at a ceremony in Dublin last night and CHAPTER ONE restaurant on Parnell Square in Dublin was once again named Ireland’s best restaurant.
