Clare representatives have welcomed the announcement that the HSE is to develop a vending machine policy for all of it’s facilities, along with healthy eating guidelines.
The Executive’s Health Promotions Officer Brian Neeson has told members of the Regioal Health Forum that it’s dieticians will draw up the policy, following calls for an extension of other moves to encourage healthy activities in hospitals.

Officials recently announced that it will ban smoking on all hospital grounds from 2015 and Barefield Councillor Brian Meaney thinks similar changes to food choices in hospitals are alo necessary.
