The average number of grey haired individuals across Clare has risen in the past five years.
Newly released results from last year’s census show that the average person in Clare is now 36.1 year old, up by 0.6 years since 2006.

People in rural areas of the county are over 2 years older than those in towns, while on average, women are nearly a year older than men.
The statistics also show that over half of all Clare residents are ‘age dependent’, meaning they are under 18 or over 65.
