There’s been a cautious welcome to news that work on completing the stalled Ennis to Galway motorway could be getting back on course.
The European Investment Bank has provided loan approval in principle of 170 million euro for the Gort to Tuam Phase of the Atlantic Corridor.

Work on the stretch of motorway from Gort to Oranmore was due to begin in early 2010 but then had to be shelved due to financial difficulties and the ongoing economic downturn.
