Overall 120 houses, apartments and flats were searched on both sides of the border in the joint operation by Gardaí and the PSNI.

Superintendent Peter Duff of Ennis Garda Station says the raid here in the county was the result of intelligence gathered prior to yesterday’s search.

Three people, two men and a woman were arrested following the raid in Ennis and questioned at Ennis Garda Station.

They have since been released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The Mayor of Ennis Michael Guilfoyle has welcomed the garda operation in Ennis and praised the efforts of local Gardaí in tackling organised prostitution.

He also urged landlords across the county to be  vigilant of any unusual activity in residential properties that they may be leasing out.
