Clare Rose hopeful of selection at regional finals

Clare’s six-year wait to send a Rose to Tralee could come to an end tonight, as the Banner flag is flown at the Regional Selection Finals.

Ennistymon’s Orla McDonagh was crowned Clare Rose 2012 in April, and tonight she will represent the county at the competition in Portlaoise.

If the Ennis teacher is one of the seven Irish Roses selected to compete on the international stage, it would be the first time since 2006 that Clare would be represented in the Tralee festival.

Speaking on The Today Show this week, Orla McDonagh said she’s looking forward to the challenge
