The head of the Eurogroup finance ministers, Jean-Claude Juncker, has called for a quick resolution to the banking crisis in Spain, which is under intense pressure to seek a bailout.
Mr. Junker was speaking on German radio late last night.

Meanwhile, the Luxembourg prime minister is insisting that Spain’s crisis is not comparable to that of Greece, and is praising Madrid’s efforts to straighten out its public finances.
Eurozone finance ministers are due hold a conference call at 2 o’clock this afternoon to discuss a Spanish request for a bailout.
