An Bord Pleanála has deferred by two months its decision on whether to permit the construction of a major retail development on the outskirts of Ennis.
Michael Lynch Ltd. is seeking to construct a 34-million euro facility, which would also consist of offices and a public library for the town at a site on the Clare Road opposite St. Flannan’s College.

Ennis Town Council had rejected a planning application, saying it was premature pending flooding upgrade works, but the matter was further appealed to An Board Pleanála.
A decision on the matter was expected this week, but the relevant parties have now been informed that this will not occur until August.
