It’s hoped that traffic congestion in Ennis town centre will soon ease as construction in the final section of town’s inner relief road moves a step closer today.
Council officials and local representatives will today put pen to paper on a 360,000 euro contract with Gildoc Ltd. for the 180 metre road, which will link Station Road with the Clare Road.

Works will begin next month, and it’s anticipated the road will open this September.
Town Mayor Councillor Michael Guilfoyle is hopeful that the new road will greatly enhance the county town.
