Clare’s electoral boundaries will remain unchanged for the next general election, despite widespread reforms announced today.
The Constituency Commission has recommended cutting the number of TDs in Leinster House by 8 – from 166 to 158, while the number of constituencies around the country will fall from 43 to 40.

However, there is to be no change here in Clare, which will continue to elect 4 TDs, while 4,300 residents of South East Clare in the Ballyglass Electoral Division will remain part of Limerick City.
