Britain’s Queen Elizabeth will meet the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland today, Martin McGuinness.
Sinn Fein announced that the former IRA commander would meet and shake hands with the British Monarch last week.

The handshake – which is taking place behind closed doors later, but it’s not yet known whether a photograph of the historic moment will be made public.
Co-operation Ireland is hosting the event for Queen Elizabeth and President Michael D. Higgins.
