The Environment Minister says he’s glad the "sorry legacy" of the e-voting system has been consigned to political history.
The 7-thousand-500 electronic voting machines – bought by the then Government in 2002 – are to be sold for just over 70-thousand euro and disposed of.

The unused equipment – which has cost the taxpayer almost 55 million euro to buy and store – will be scrapped and recycled by a company in Co. Offaly.
