McFeely Wins Supreme Court Appeal

The Developer of the Priory Hall apartment complex, Tom McFeely, has won his appeal to the Supreme Court against his three month prison sentence for contempt of court.

McFeely, who was declared bankrupt at the High Court in Dublin yesterday, won his appeal against the sentence, that was imposed after he failed to repair fire safety defects at the housing complex in north Dublin.

The court has found the bankrupt developer  was ordered off the site and was not allowed complete the work by the target date of November 28th last.

Therefore it’s ruled there was no factual basis to find him in contempt of court.

The decision means the 63 year old also avoids paying a one million euro fine.
