Gardaí upgrade Dundalk death to murder

Gardaí investigating the death of a 34-year old woman in Dundalk, Co. Louth have found no evidence of a burglary at the house.

Jacqueline McDonagh was beaten to death in her home at College Manor on Hoey’s Lane in the early hours of Wednesday morning and it’s believed she may have known her killer.

A post-mortem was carried out on her body yesterday, however the results are being kept private for operational reasons.

Jacqueline’s husband Michael Quinn McDonagh and the couple’s three children were at the scene when investigating officers arrived.

Security Editor with the Irish Independent Tom Brady says gardaí have so far found no evidence of a break in, after Mr. McDonagh told them two men had burst in and attacked his wife.
