Carey insists vulnerable won’t be hit by health cuts

Clare Residents who avail of disability or home help services across County Clare are being reassured that those who need it most wont be hit by the 130 million euro in cuts to the health sector.

Protesters from around the country have gathered outside Government Buildings in Dublin to demonstrate against HSE cuts to home help and personal assistance services.

They say the cuts make no economic sense and will deny people the right to live with dignity.

However Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey insists the most vulnerable will not be targeted

Meanwhile,

The Taoiseach has dismissed suggestions of tensions between the coalition parties over budget cuts.

The Cabinet meets for the first time since the summer break today and the meeting is set to be dominated by talks on the 130 million euro health cuts announced last week.
