Clare Samaritans seek the public’s help this evening, as they hold the first part of their bi-annual volunteer drive.
The group, which is based on the Kilrush Road in Ennis, offers confidential emotional support to people who are experiencing feelings of distress and despair and says demand for it’s services has been extremely high in recent years.

Two recruitment events are being held for Clare Samaritans this week – the first takes place at the Templegate Hotel tonight at 8:00, with the second this Saturday morning at 10:00 at the Old Ground Hotel.
Director of Clare Samaritans Gerry Dobbins says their volunteers often reap benefits, as well as helping others.
