Former US President Bill Clinton has formally nominated President Barack Obama to be the Democratic Party’s candidate in the next presidential election.
Clinton says he nominated Obama for a second term because he wants a man who is "cool on the outside but burns for America on the inside".

Clinton’s televised speech was the highlight of the second day of the three-day Democratic National Convention, which formally launches Obama into what is expected to be a tight race against Republican Mitt Romney.
President Obama delighted delegates with a surprise appearance a day earlier than expected – joining Clinton on stage after his speech.
