Clare hoteliers have joined with local Councillors and chambers of commerce in calling for swift action on the creation of an independent Shannon Airport.
Lahinch hotelier and President of the Irish Hotels Federation Michael Vaughan says the process of separating Shannon from the DAA needs to be accelerated, and claims ‘nothing has materialised’ since government announced their initial plan to do this in May.

This week, Ennis Councillors and Chambers of Commerce in Clare and Limerick have already called on the coalition to announce a new board for Shannon in the coming weeks, in order to maximise business opportunities for 2013.
Michael Vaughan too, feels that this needs to be a priority.
