Members of the Irish Paralympic team were welcomed home by massive crowds last night.

They touched down at Dublin airport at about 8pm – with a haul of 16 medals in total.

Among the Irish Paralympic Team were two Clare Athletes, Killaloe Swimmer Jonathon McGrath and Clonlara Rower Sarah Caffrey who wasn’t able to be part of the homecoming last night as she’s returning to her teaching job in London.

Speaking to Clare FM the visually impaired member of Ireland’s Mixed Coxed Four Rowing Team said she’s was delighted to part of Team Ireland and is looking forward to participating in Rio 2016.

And Sarah Caffrey said the triumph of our Paralympic Medallists like Sprinter Jason Smith  – who shares a similar visual impairment to her –  will make a real difference for people with disabilities in Ireland
