Your typical Chinese takeaway can contain more than your entire day’s calorie intake.
That’s according to Safefood, which is trying to help people make more informed food choices.

Research released today shows the average portion of Prawn Crackers they tested contained over 600 calories, while some starter dishes provided a third of a person’s daily calorie count.
Safefood says the problem is that Chinese food is traditionally healthy, but dishes here have been adapted to suit western tastes with high fat, salt and sugar content, and overall bigger portions.
