Clare T.D concerned over discontinuation of email service

Clare’s Fianna Fail TD is urging the government not to take away the email addresses of up to 15,000 people using the ireland.com service.

Tourism Ireland has purchased the domain name ireland.com from The Irish Times, at a cost of 495,000 euro, and say it will help promote the country to outside visitors.

However, the move comes at a cost to the thousands who have been using the site’s email service, which will be discontinued next month, unless action is taken.  The Transport Minister says he will investigate the matter.

Clare TD Timmy Dooley feels the existing email service would be an asset to the country, if maintained
