7 on trolleys at Ennis General

Nursing staff at Ennis General are under increased pressure today as the hospital capacity is stretched.

New figures from the INMO show there are currently 7 patients on trolleys and chairs awaiting a bed at Clare’s County Hospital.

The situation in Limerick is even more stark with 28 people in the A&E at Dooradoyle waiting to be admitted to the region’s main hospital.

While in Galway staff there are dealing with 16 patients in its emergency department
