The Health Minister James Reilly says clarity must be given to the medical profession about when a pregnancy can be medically terminated.
He made the comments after it emerged that a 31 year old woman died at Galway University Hospital – following a miscarriage.

Savita Halpannavar’s husband said she had repeatedly requested, but was denied a medical termination.
Speaking in Cork the Health Minister James Reilly said he has now received a report from an expert group set up to advise the government on abortion law.
Dr Reilly said he intends to provide clarity to medics once the government considers the expert report.
