New research has outlined the level of hospital-acquired infections in patients around the country.
According to the study from the Health Protection Surveillance centre, around 1 in 20 people tested positive during the month of May.

Over 9 thousand people at 50 hospitals were surveyed in the Irish version of a Europe-wide study, with more international results due for release next week.
