The water supply of 30,000 residents and businesses in and around Ennis is set to improve in the near future, with confirmation that a key scheme has been given the green light.
The government has confirmed funding for the Ennis Town Water Augmentation Scheme – the project will now proceed to tender later this year.

The 635.000 euro contract provides for extra connections for the main supply, and it’s hoped this will improve pressure and reliability for consumers in Ennis, and also surrounding areas including Barefield, Clarecastle, Doora and Crusheen.
Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey has welcomed the investment.
