Clare’s most senior officer will move to allay fears of residents and businesses in East Clare this evening over the latest raft of garda station closures.
Broadford is one of eight locations inClare set to lose its station as part of reform of the force despite a 40 thousand upgrade of facilities there just two years ago.
Tonight Chief Superintendent John Kerin will join other senior members of the force in outlying details of the proposed policing plan for the area once there’s no officer permanently based there.
The meeting which was organised by community alert groups in Broadford and O’Callaghans Mills, is being held at Broadford Community Hall at 8 pm.
