An music duo with strong Clare links have been nominated for one of the most prestigious prizes in Irish music.
Female pop sisters Louise and Ellie McNamara, better known as Heathers, are one of ten acts short-listed for the Meteor Choice Music Prize which selects the best Irish album of any given year.

The Dublin twins, whose father hails from Ennistymon, have been selected for their album ‘Kingdom’ and will be up against the likes of Julie Feeney, Delorentos, Wallis Bird and Damien Dempsey.
Their track, ‘Remember When’, was previously used by Failte Ireland for a major advertising campaign.
